Billed as “the world’s most entertaining electric quartet,” the British group, “Stringfever” appears at The Paradise Center on Thursday evening, April 4. The act will be the last in the Center’s fall and winter Tapestry performing arts series.
Stringfever is the musical partnership of four brothers, Giles, Ralph, Graham, and Neal Broadbent, who have performed in over 1000 shows in 32 countries since Giles and Ralph started performing on European streets. Fast-forward 18 years and now joined by two other brothers, they have matured into unforgettable presenters of music and comedy. Their look is distinctive: each member playing different colored, electric stringed instruments ranging from 5-string Violectra violins to cellos.
The quartet’s typical concert includes a history of music “in 5 minutes,” timeless classical and rock music, movie themes, and usually the crowd’s favorite, “Bolero.” One reviewer characterized their concerts as "Cirque de Soleil a la strings."
Growing up in a musical family, the Broadbent brothers were destined for the music profession. Giles and Ralph studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Graham at the Royal College. Giles led the orchestras for several West End shows (Sunset Boulevard, Phantom of the Opera and My Fair Lady). Neal was on his way to the Guildhall School of Music--but was kidnapped by his brothers to be the cellist in their new group - Stringfever!
Stringfever’s 2024 US tour includes stops in Ann Arbor, Minneapolis, and nine Montana venues.
Stringfever performs at 7 pm, Thursday, April 4, at The Paradise Center, 2 Schoolhouse Hill Road, Paradise. Tickets are $15 (adult advance), $20 (adult at the door), and $5 (students all the time). Tickets can be purchased at Garden Gift and Floral (Plains), First Security Bank (Plains and Thompson Falls), and on-line (paradisecentermt.org). The Tapestry series is assisted by the Western States Arts Federation.
