Whitefish Falls to Bigfork in Saturday Afternoon Matinee

Both Whitefish Basketball teams took to the road, on Saturday, for an afternoon double header at Bigfork.

Both the Vikings and Vals would come away victorious on the day.

It was a hostile environment with tensions high, all day long.

The boys game was up first and the Dawgs would trail at the half 27-20.

Whitefish would battle back and took the lead in the 3rd but Bigfork went into the fourth with a 42-40 lead.

The Vikings would absorb the Dawgs comeback attempt and held on for the 51-46 win.

Whitefish was led by Mason Genovese, the Ortho Rehab Player of the Game. Genovese had 19 in the contest, 14 in the 3rd quarter. Mason Kelch added 18 for Whitefish who falls to 9-8 on the season, 5-6 in conference play. Whitefish will officially be the No. 5 Seed for the Divisional Tournament Play-in Games, which begin Thursday.

Bigfork was led by Austin Savik, off the bench, with 18.

Bigfork finishes the season 9-9 overall, 6-6 in league play and will officially be the No. 4 Seed for the Play-In Tournament.

In the nightcap it was all the Valkyries as they led wire-to-wire coming away with the 71-22 victory.

Camry Kelch had a great game, off the bench, for the Lady Dawgs dropping in 13 of the teams 22 points, to earn the OrthoRehab Player of the Game. 

Whitefish falls to 6-11 overall, 3-8 in conference play. The Lady Dawgs will be participating in the Play-In Tournament, which begins Thursday. Seeding TBD.

Bigfork will be the No. 1 Seed for the Northwest "A" at the Divisional Tournament after finishing the season 17-1 overall, undefeated in league play.
