Whitefish and area wrestling teams were in Hamilton over the weekend competing in the Western "A" Divisonal Tournament.
The 2-day competition would get underway on Friday and conclude Saturday.
First up a look at the boys side of things:
Ronan would claim the Western "A" Championship finishing with 268.5 team points. Frenchtown took 2nd with Columbia Falls placing 3rd.
As for the Whitefish Bulldogs, while they didn't medal as a team they did have some top individual performers.
At 132 Pounds, Landree Aurand would place 1st.
Henry Bennets would place 4th at 160lbs.
Sam Akey took 8th place at 285lbs.
Over on the girls side:
Ronan would finish in 1st place as a team, garnering 248 points. Polson finished in 2nd while Browning was 3rd.
The Whitefish Lady Bulldogs did not medal as a team but Samantha Bennetts, the lone grappler for the Lady Dawgs, would finish in 3rd place at 120lbs.
Up Next: Whitefish and area teams will be will be in Billings for the All Class State Wrestling Tournament, Friday and Saturday February 9th and 10th.
